Seattle is Portland's big indifferent sister city. Seattle has about 80% more of every cool thing Portland has to offer. However Seattle has grown old and boring, so folks from Seattle come to Portland for tiny vacations, intimate music shows and killer little art shows.
Shawn Wolfe and Le Merde, two of Seattle's most renowned and collected artists are coming to Portland because we have something here that doesn't exist anywhere else: Grass Hut Gallery and gooooood vibez.
If you don't already know who these Seattle artists are yet, read on...
Shawn Wolfe's graphic, painted and sculptural works are ponderous, playful, pointless and panicky; chronicling human hubris with sincere and heartfelt ambivalence. His work has appeared in Emigre, Metropolis, GQ Japan, Relax, While You Were Sleeping, Adbusters, and Print. He and wife Jessica have made Seattle their home since 1990.
